KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is set to continue proceedings today (Wednesday) on the writ petitions filed by Kul Man Ghising, former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), and Hirendra Dev Shakya, the newly appointed MD.

A division bench comprising Justices Kumar Chudal and Nitya Nanda Pandey began hearing the cases on Tuesday but was unable to conclude, necessitating a continuation.

Ghising has challenged the government’s decision to remove him from office, seeking its reversal. In contrast, Shakya has filed a petition asserting that his removal and Ghising’s reappointment after four years were unjust.

Additionally, Shakya has submitted another writ arguing that Ghising’s case should not proceed until the court resolves his own petition from four years ago.

The Supreme Court has been hearing both petitions simultaneously.
