Smuggled goods worth Rs 8 lakh recovered in Nepalgunj

Police on Saturday evening recovered goods that had been smuggled into Nepal from Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan-15 in Banke district.

The person has identified Monu Kawadiya (32), a local resident of Jamunaha in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan, as the person involved in smuggling the goods. He had hidden the smuggled goods like motorcycle, vehicle spare parts, and clothes in a room in MP School.

Acting on a tip-off, Banke-based District Police Office (DPO) personnel seized those materials from his room. The recovered materials are worth Rs eight lakh, said the police.

Police have said that search is on for Kawadiya, who has been absconding.

The recovered materials will be handed over to Banke-based Customs Office, informed DPO.
