The Narainapur Rural Municipality has adopted strict measures to stop cow slaughter. A meeting of the municipality executive held on Friday decided to identify those involved in cow slaughter and take strict action against them, including depriving them of any services provided by the rural municipality for one year.
Furthermore, a decision was taken to provide Rs 15,000 in cash as a reward to the person who provides information about the person who has slaughtered a cow, said the RM Chairman Istiyak Mohammad Shah. The municipal council has also prepared a policy and procedure in this regard.
Meanwhile, the municipality council has also urged the local security authorities to help prevent cow slaughter. Chief Administrative Officer Mani Ram Kharal said that the rural municipality will carry out public sensitization program in this regard.
Cow is the national animal of Nepal and cow slaughter is a punishable offense as per the prevailing law.
