Students aged 12 to 17 are being vaccinated from today

The government is vaccinating students in the age group of 12 to 17 against COVID in 57 districts from today. Ministry of Health and Population spokesperson Dr Sangeeta Mishra informed that the first dose of Moderna vaccine will be given to the students from today till December 29.

According to her, students of Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Terhathum, Panchthar, Ilam and Udaipur of Province No. 1, Siraha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat and Bara districts of Province No 2 will be vaccinated.

Adding that students from Dolakha, Sindhupanchok, Rasuwa, Dhading, Nuwakot, Ramechhap and Makwanpur of Bagmati region, Gorkha, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Lamjung, Tanahu, Nawalparasi East, Syangja and Parbat, Rukumpur, Rolpa, Lumbani, Rolpa Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Nawalparasi West, Kapilvastu and Bardiya will also get vaccinated. The second batch will be conducted for the students of those districts from January 16 to 26.

The ministry is also conducting a Pfizer vaccination campaign in 19 districts including Sindhuli and 20 districts including Sindhuli for chronically ill patients above 12 years of age.
