Students getting textbooks along with their enrollment in Darchula

The situation in which students got the school textbooks only at the end of academic session has ended this year in Darchula district. The students have got textbooks with their admission this year.

A student Nisha Dhami of Malikarjun Secondary School at Shailyashikhar municipality-6 said they are happy for getting textbooks in the beginning of new academic session. The students here had padlocked the school last year, citing they did not get textbooks till the end of academic session.

 Officiating Principal of the school, Ram Singh Dhami, said they are also happy to provide textbooks to students at the time of their enrollment. "Students used to complain of not getting textbooks for long after the beginning of the academic session. We also faced problem in teaching. We are now so happy to provide textbooks to students with the admission", he mentioned.

There are 250 students in the school. A total of 150 students got textbooks on Tuesday alone.

Similarly, 240 students are studying at Shailyashikhar Basic School located at Shailyashikhar municipality-6. Principal Sharada Dhami said number of student enrollment has increased in the school after the distribution of textbooks along with admission.

Viewing the problem surfaced in lack of textbooks till the last of academic session in mind, textbooks are provided to all schools in the district on time, said Chief of Education Development and Coordination Unit, Darchula, Jayraj Panta.
