‘Sudurpaschimka Prakhyat Shaktipeethharu’ by Dr Pandey launched

'Sudurpaschimka Prakhyat Shaktipeethharu’, a collection about famous shrines of Sudurpaschim Province, by writer Dr Dambar Raj Pandey has hit the market.

Nepali Congress chief whip Ramesh Lekhak launched the book amid a function here on Saturday.

Published by tourism entrepreneur Narendra Dev Bhatta, the work has presented investigative details of nine religious sites (shaktipeeths) of Sudurpaschim Province, including Tripurasundari, Melauli Bhagawati, Ningalasaini and Dilasaini of Baitadi, Ugratara of Dadeldhura, Shaileshwori of Doti, Baradadevi of Achham, Surmadevi of Bajhang and Madimalika of Bajura.

Saying that Sudurpaschim is the land of gods and goddesses, NC leader Lekhak expressed the hope that religious and tourist destinations of the province would be promoted through the book. Besides, the book would help make publicity of culture and civilisation of the region and shaktipeeths, he added.

“Sudurpaschim can be developed as a religious tourist hotspot. There is a need for all to come together for the conservation of culture and heritages which are a basis for the country’s economic prosperity,” he said, stressing the need for increasing distributable access to people to strengthen democracy.

Similarly, the NC central member Nayan Singh Mahar expressed his hope that the book would help new generation understand and get knowledge about history. ---
