Kamal Tamang, Chairman of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga, has been honoured with the 'Nelson Mandela Leadership Award 2023'.
Chairman Tamang was selected for the award from Nepal based on the survey conducted by 'NRI Welfare of India'.
Chairman Tamang was honoured with this award through the 'Global Peace Summit' held in London on September 27.
The award was given in recognition of Tamang's contribution to the community during the Corona epidemic. Tamang, who was elected as the chairman of Sunkoshi village council from the Nepali Congress in the local level elections, has announced that he will distribute all his salary and allowances for the development of community schools according to the law.
