A new mother who was abandoned by her husband and left to fend for herself and her newborn is getting support in cash and kind. Readers responded to a news report disseminated from RSS to come to the rescue of the new mother, who had given birth only 21 days ago.

A resident of Okhaldhunga and currently living in Kandaghari in Kathmandu, Binita Bhujel was suffering for two meals a day after being left alone by her husband. A news report about her ordeal was disseminated by RSS on Friday.

Responding to the news report, Sarita Gurung has pledged to send Rs. 10,000 from the USA while Pritam Kafley in Kathmandu is to provide Rs. 10,000. Likewise, Sandip Basnet is providing all necessary food requirements for the new mother and her baby child. Many others have also pledged necessary support to Bhujel.

Bhujel had married the man she fell in love with 14 years ago. But he left her just 21 days after she had given birth. She has blamed him for eloping with another woman. Her husband is out of contact since March 4.

If I could get support to survive for few months, I could go back to my daily wage work to make a living, says Bhujel.
