The bodies of remaining 12 people who died in a Tara Air plane crash at Thasang Gaonpalika-2 in Mustang on Sunday have been brought to Kathmandu.
According to General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, Prem Nath Thakur, the bodies of 10 people who lost their lives in the plane were brought to Kathmandu on Monday evening while the bodies of the remaining 12 people have been brought to Kathmandu by a Nepal Army MI-17 helicopter.
According to him, the bodies brought to Kathmandu have been sent to Teaching Hospital. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has stated that all the 22 bodies will be handed over to their relatives after postmortem at the Hospital.
The ministry has also formed an accident investigation commission on Monday under the direction of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Prem Bahadur Ale to investigate the crash. The ministry has formed a five-member accident investigation commission headed by senior aeronautical engineer Ratish Chandra Lal Suman. The members of the commission are Captain Dipu Jwarchan, Senior Maintenance Engineer Upendra Lal Shrestha, Senior Meteorologist Maniratna Shakya and Joint Secretary of the Ministry Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane.
