The 'craze' of yoga and meditation in Bardibas

In Bardibas of Mahottari, the practice of yoga and meditation has increased a lot. Around 100 people participated in the newly constructed Yoga Bhawan at Bardibas-3 Gauridanda Ratmata on Saturday.

Collective yoga and meditation have been started in Bardibas on the occasion of Yoga Day last year. Chief of Bardibas Municipality, Bidur Kumar Karki, informed that the Yoga Bhawan has been constructed considering it necessary to raise awareness about yoga and meditation in the daily schedule. He said, “It is suitable for teaching yoga and meditation done collectively. That is why we have built Yoga Bhavan with the desire to increase interest in yoga meditation everywhere. ”

Yoga guru Swami Prem Alok, who has been in group yoga and meditation for more than 40 years, informed. "People's representatives here have a very positive interest in yoga and meditation," he said. "We started yoga training at a party palace last year with the help of MP Giriraj Mani Pokhrel. Alok said that the people's representatives at the local level are also interested in increasing the participation of yoga and meditation. At present, there are four instructors including Alok in Yoga Bhavan.

The municipality has decided in principle to conduct additional classes on yoga and meditation in schools within its area. According to the Municipal Executive Office, other preparations will be made for this from the management of trainers. The 400 kV transmission line, Panikholsi Ratmata Community Forest Users Committee and Bardibas Municipality have fulfilled the financial responsibility for the construction of Yoga Bhawan at a cost of Rs 5.2 million. Ward Chairman of Bardibas-3 Rajan Dhungana informed that the Yoga Bhawan has the capacity to accommodate 300 people at a time.
