The internet connection in nine different places of the country can be disconnected at any time. The Internet Service Providers Association of Nepal (ISPAN), an umbrella organization of Internet service providers, said the Internet could be cut off at any time due to the Nepal Electricity Authority.
ISPAN said in a statement that internet service could be disrupted at any time in Ilam, Biratnagar, Khotang, Gaighat, Inaruwa, Dharan, Dhuwahi, Lahan and Doeti.
"NEA has been continuously cutting off power lines including those at the places where internet points and data centers are connected. Backup system has been used after NEA cut off power. Internet service may be interrupted at any time after the backup system ceases to support," ISPAN said.
NEA has started cutting power in some places saying that the internet service provider company has not paid the bills. The NEA has started cutting the power supply even after repeated requests for payment.
