The road from Rani of Morang to Tarhara of Sunsari will be completed within a month

The lane road is being constructed from Rani of Morang to Tarhara of Sunsari and will be completed within the next one month.

The contract was signed eight years ago to build 37.4 km road from Rani to Tarahara at a cost of over Rs. 6 billion. The contract to complete the construction work within five years has not been completed yet. It is yet to be ascertained when the project will be completed.

 Badri Sharma, chief of Itahari, said that the road project could not proceed as the locals did not leave the 1.5 km road in Duhabi Bazaar. Participants in the interaction program organized by the District Administration Office today said that the construction of the road has been delayed due to the delay in the construction of the road.

Stating that the people have suffered a lot due to the delay in the construction of the road, they said that the DPR of the six-lane road was very flawed, due to non-discharge of rain water, wards 13, 15 and 16 of Biratnagar area were inundated and the road to ward no. He said that the plan should focus on this as it would be flooded.

Participants said that there were many errors in the design of the plan as the road was being demolished in sections. Participants have complained that the road in Kachua Lake is causing accidents, failure of street lights, placing dividers on the road and causing problems for people crossing the road.

The participants also questioned whether the road from Itahari to Tarhara in Sunsari would be of international standard and the road from Itahari to Morang Rani was in a very poor condition. On the occasion, President of Nepali Congress Biratnagar Municipal Committee Deepak Chapagain, Chairman of CPN-UML Biratnagar Committee Sagar Thapa, Vice Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Biratnagar Metropolitan Committee Mohammad Nasrul, Navin Poudel of (CPN-Maoist) Center, Representative of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Deepak Poudel, Representative of Morang Trade Association Pawan He said that emphasis should be laid on beautification of the road by ending the problems seen in the construction of the road.

Traffic Police Inspector Chandra Bahadur Khadka said that the number of accidents has increased in Biratnagar Metropolitan City as the number of city safaris is more than the required number.

Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashiraj Dahal, said that the plan would be correct and good only with the commitment and continuity of all and stressed that no agreement would be reached with anyone for the security of the citizens. He also instructed the planning chief to resolve the issue arising out of the six-lane road.

Chief of the Biratnagar Metropolitan City Bhim Parajuli informed that the sky bridge is being constructed keeping in mind the busyness of Biratnagar Bazaar and said that no effort will be left to beautify the six lane road of the city.

Chief of the scheme, Badri Sharma, said that the scheme was designed before its inception and expressed his commitment to focus on minimizing the loss of life due to roads. He said that the citizens were responsible for the poor condition of the road from Itahari to Tarahara and the road from Itahari to Rani of Morang.

He said that the plan would not ask for any grant or assistance from anyone for the beautification of the road.
