In a recent development the third gender too will be able to receive social security fund in Ilam. The Deumai Municipality in Ilam has decided to provide social security fund every month to third genders too. Deputy Mayor of the municipality, Pabi Maya Rai, said that the third genders will be provided Rs 1,000 every month. She informed that the budget for this purpose has already been allocated.
The municipality will also provide Rs 1,000 every month as social security fund to unmarried females who are 45 years old and above. Those who are slightly differently-abled (yellow card) will also be given Rs 500 per month. The municipality has mentioned that there are 141 such
differently-abled people in the municipality.
