Three arrested for child marriage in Parsa

Police have arrested three people involved in a child marriage from Pakahamainpur Rural Municipality-1 in Parsa district.

The arrested have been identified as Bishal Sahani (24) and Thag Sahani (65), both local residents of the same rural municipality in the district, and Mahesh Sahani (48) of Prasauni Rural Municipality-5 in Bara district.

Mahesh and Thag allegedly convinced Bishal to marry a 17-year-old girl. Bishal had married the teenage girl in Dhore-based Bhutandevi Temple on February 1.

Security personnel from the district nabbed all the accused on Wednesday after getting information about the child marriage.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the District Police Office, Parsa.
