A vehicle with registration number SE 1 JA 739 heading towards Dadeldhura from Sigas Rural Municipality-3 in Baitadi district met with an accident leading to three deaths and 11 injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Jaya Singh Dhami (45), Man Singh Dhami (45), and Ram Singh Dhami (64), all residents of Sigas Rural Municipality-3. They died at the site of the accident. Meanwhile, Inspector Darshan Khadka, Spokesperson of District Police Office, Baitadi, informed that the condition of five injured passengers is critical. Their names have not been disclosed yet.
The other six people who have been injured have been identified as Karan Singh Dhami (29), Dalbir Saud (45), Chakra Dhami (40), Basmati Dhami (38), Sher Bahadur Dhami (40), and Rabindra Dhami (20), all resident of the Sigas Rural Municipality-3. Their health condition is stable and have been referred to Dadeldhura hospital for further treatment, the police said.
Haribhan Saud (44), owner of the vehicle, and Khagendra Saud (19), the driver, fled from the site of the accident.
A total of 16 passengers were travelling in the vehicle that fell 50 meters from the road.
The cause of the accident has not been disclosed yet and a manhunt has been launched to nab the owner and driver of the vehicle, informed the police.
