The Tribhuvan University (TU) has appealed to all actors and stakeholders to help conduct the Free Student Union (FSU) election successfully. The general public and concerned authorities including the federal, provincial, and local governments, security agencies, journalists, and civil society have been requested to provide assistance until the poll is concluded, according to a statement issued on Saturday by Pashupati Adhikari, member secretary of the TU FSU election central monitoring and coordination committee.
The election is taking place tomorrow (Sunday) after a hiatus of 14 years due to various reasons, it has been said. The poll is supposed to take place every two years. At least 60 TU constituent and 1,040 affiliated campuses are participating in the poll. Voting begins from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Two constituent and some affiliated colleges have already unanimously elected their FSU office-bearers, he said.
