Police have arrested two persons from Bhaktapur on the charge of swindling Rs. 52 million to sell a person's land including public land.
Police have arrested Keshav Prasad Adhikari, 72, of Changunarayan Municipality-7 from Kamal Binayak and Ishwor Gaiju, a resident of Bhaktapur Municipality-8 from the gate of Bhaktapur Land Revenue Office. The investigation has been started by keeping them in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Complex, Bhaktapur.
According to Raju KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police, the team was arrested by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office on Friday on the basis of a complaint lodged by Dhaniram Rai of Khotang Buipa-3 and Diktel Rupakot of Majuwagadhi Municipality-14. KC said that the arrested have been handed over to the Bhaktapur premises by the branch and the Bhaktapur police has started further investigation and legal process from today.
The arrested officer and Gaiju had lied saying that they had taken permission from the land owner of various plots of land in Bhaktapur Savik Sudal VDC-4 'A' without seeking permission. It is alleged that they have swindled Rs.5,20,00,000.
