Two arrested on rape charges in Myagdi, Kanchanpur

Police arrested a boy on charge of raping a 15-year-old girl in Malika Rural Municipality-5, Myagdi district.

The 15-year-old has been identified as a resident of the same rural municipality in the district.

The accused took the girl to Beni-based Hotel Shikhar and Hotel Dolphin. He raped the girl repeatedly for continuous 10 days from 18th August to 28 August.

Acting on the complaint that the accused raped the girl, a team of security personnel deployed from Myagdi District Police Office (DPO) arrested him on Saturday evening.

Likewise, Kanchanpur police arrested one on charge of raping a 10-year-old minor girl in Laljhadi Rural Municipality-4.

The 16-year-old arrested has been identified as a resident of the same rural municipality in the district.

After knowing about the heinous crime that the accused had raped the minor, a joint team of security personnel deployed from the Jhalari-based Area Police Office and Bansa-based Temporary Police Post nabbed the accused on Saturday afternoon.

Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed police.
