Police on Saturday evening arrested two youths with 9 kg of marijuana from Kailash Rural Municipality-9 in Makawanpur district.
The names of the 14 and 15-year-old minors have not been disclosed. Both are residents of Jhyangne in the same rural municipality-4.
Namtar-based Temporary Police Post personnel nabbed them with the substance during a routine check.
Similarly, a man was arrested with 2.23 grams of brown sugar from Biratmod Municipality-3 in Jhapa district on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as Praful Rajbanshi (30) of Birtabazar in the same municipality.
He had been allegedly hiding the brown sugar in his house. Acting on a tip-off, a team of security personnel nabbed him with the substance while searching his house. The police also recovered one digital scale, four sets of mobile phones and also seized Rs 5,200 from him.
Likewise, police arrested a youth with controlled drugs from Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-9 in Dhanusha district on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as Santosh Kumar Yadav (25) of Chireshwornath Municipality-10 in the district.
He had 1,500 nitravet tablets in his possession.
Security personnel deployed from the Dhanusha-based District Police Office nabbed him with the substances during a routine vehicle check. He had been hiding the drugs under the motorcycle's seat. The police also seized a knife from his possession.
Meanwhile, police on Saturday morning arrested a man with 2.8 kg of marijuana from Sahidnagar Municipality in Dhanusha district.
The arrested has been identified as Jiwoch Mandal of Yedukuha in the same municipality.
After receiving information that Mandal had been hiding marijuana in his house, Yedukuha-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed him with the substance while searching his house. The police also recovered Rs 61,997 from him.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
