Two youths who were kidnapped three days ago have been rescued from India and handed to their families.
The District Office, Makwanpur rescued Govinda Shrestha, 23, and Pawan Rana Magar, 22, of Swagat Tole of Hetauda Sub Metropolis-9 with the help of Indian Police.
According to District Police Office's Deputy Superintendent Jayashwor Rimal, three Indian nationals allegedly abducted the two from the Hetauda Bus Park at 9:30 pm on August 19. The two were freed from the clutches of alleged abductors from the Bihar State of India.
During the investigation, it has been revealed that the two are drug abusers and the alleged kidnappers were known to them. Both sides had a meeting before the abduction. The alleged abductors had demanded a ransom of INR 500,000 each from them and if the ransom was not paid, they threatened to extract their kidneys and sell the organs.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
