Popular singer, Prem Dhoj Pradhan, passed away this afternoon during the course of treatment at Kathmandu Neuro and General Hospital in Sundhara of the capital.
He had been complaining of a chest pain for the past few days.
Pradhan was born on June 6, 1938, in Chautara of Sindhupalchowk. He was a singer, composer, and regional playback singer. He sang in the two major languages of Nepal - Nepal Bhasa and Nepali.
Pradhan was also known as the Golden Voice and King of Romantic Melodies of Nepal.
His famous songs include ‘Yo Nepali Sir Uchali’, ‘Para Laijau Phul Haru’, ‘Rajamati Kumati’, ‘Lagda Cha Mana’, among others.
He had also collaborated with famous Indian singers Asha Bhosle and Usha Mangeshkar during his prime days.
