A wild elephant died last night in the Shuklaphanta municipality of Kanchanpur.

 A wild elephant died after falling into the safety tank of the toilet in the community forest office premises. Kishore Kumar Mehta, chief conservation officer of Shuklaphanta National Park, said that after 12 midnight, the wild elephant came and fell into the safety tank with its hind legs and died.

He said that the wild elephant may have come into the herd and said that the dead elephant may have escaped alone and came there. He said, “The elephant will be cremated after completing the formalities.”
