Police apprehended a youth on charge of raping a 15-year-old minor girl from Nijgadh Municipality-13 in Bara district on Tuesday evening.

The accused has been identified as Raj Kumar Syangtan (22), a local resident of Damarpur in the same municipality.

Syangtan allegedly lured and raped the girl by promising to marry her. Acting on a tip-off, Nijgadh-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed the accused.

Further investigation into the case is being carried out, said the police.
