Police arrested a youth on charge of raping a 16-year-old teenage girl from Laljhadi Rural Municipality-4 in Kanchanpur district.

The accused has been identified as Dinesh Rana (25) of the same rural municipality in the district.

Rana allegedly raped the teen at Gokulpur in Belauri Municipality-2 on February 26.

Acting on a tip-off, Belauri-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed the accused on Sunday evening.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the police.
