The youths originally from Rampur village of Molung Rural Municipality and currently living in Kathmandu have brought the relief and safety materials and distributed them in the village.
They had collected the assistance amount of Rs 300 thousand through a social media campaigning.
Arjun Dahal of Rampur Youth Network informed that they brought 100 sacks of rice, 103 packets of salts, 100 litres of oil, three sets of oxygen cylinders, 7,000 pieces of masks, 100 digital thermometers and some oximeters. The cylinders filled with oxygen are handed to the Rampur Health Post.
Similarly, rice, salt and oil are provided to poor families.
Other safety materials were provided to some 500 houses including Area Police Office, said another youth Bikram Dahal, adding that the assistance amount was provided by political leaders, cadres, social workers, teachers and youths living in Kathmandu.
A local from Molung Rural Municipality Ward No 2, Indra Karki, expressed happiness over the distribution of relief and safety materials at a time when entire country is gripped with coronavirus. He thanked youths for such social activism.
So far, Okhaldhunga district has recorded a total coronavirus infection of 1,087 and fatalities of 8.
