Chairperson of the Federal Council of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal, Baburam Bhattarai, has stated that the Supreme Court has interpreted the constitution as per its spirit.

Chairperson of the Federal Council of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP), Baburam Bhattarai, has stated that the Supreme Court has interpreted the constitution as per its spirit. He added that the court had helped save the constitution which had been misinterpreted and used for vested interests.

Bhattarai further stated that the country was heading towards regression due to the misinterpretation of the constitution by some people with self-centred interests but the apex court had helped stop that by interpreting the constitution according to the spirit that it was drafted in.

However, Bhattarai added that the constitution was like a glass half filled with water – one could either argue it is half empty or half full. He mentioned there were so more amendments that needed to be made in the constitution.
