KATHMANDU:  The government has recommended five ordinances to President Ramchandra Paudel for his endorsement.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on January 10 decided to issue five ordinances including an ordinance to amend Privatization Act, 2050 BS and an ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts on Land, 2081 BS.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting also issued an ordinance made to amend some Nepal Acts on Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081 BS; an ordinance made to amend some Nepal Acts on Economic and Enabling Business Environment and Investment Promotion 2081 BS and Economic Procedures and Fiscal Accountability (First Amendment), 2081 BS.

At a news conference organized today, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung said a decision was made to approve Rs 1.63 billion in grant assistance for ‘Forest Project for Prosperity’.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting has given a nod to increase the paid up capital of Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) to Rs 6.48 billion.

According to Minister Gurung, the minimum support price for wheat was fixed at Rs 3,867 per quintal for the current fiscal year.

Likewise, Judge of Patan High Court, Brajesh Pyakurel, was appointed the chair of Revenue Tribunal Kathmandu and Judge of Patan High Court Bidur Koirala was appointed the Member of Special Court, Kathmandu.

The government decided to give permission in principle to formulate bill designed to amend and integrate laws related to immigration and approve Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2081, according to Minister Gurung.

Similarly, Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police Kuber Kadayat and Rabindra KC were promoted to the post of Additional Inspector Generals and the government decided to depute at Nepal Police Headquarters, Crime Investigation Bureau and Nepal Police Headquarters, Province Coordination Department, respectively.

The meeting took the decision to table the bill designed to amend Nepal Citizenship Act, 2063 BS before the Federal Parliament as well as scrap Guideline related to Regulations of Nuclear Substances, 2072 BS.

Likewise, the government decided to grant permission to present bill designed to amend and integrate laws related to Armed Police Force Nepal before the Federal Parliament as well as approve the Regulations related to Labour, Employment and Social Security and Mountaineering (Sixth Amendment), 2081.

The meeting also decided to depute Joint-Secretary Baburam Adhikari as Chief Secretary of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Lumbini Province and Joint-Secretary Madan Bhujel as the Chief Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Madhes Province.
