Cabinet extends term of four DIGs of APF

KATHMANDU : The government has decided to promote the Acting Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai to the post of secretary.

Addressing a press conference in the Ministry at Singha Durbar, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung said that the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to promote Rai to the post of secretary.

He said that the meeting of the cabinet also decided to extend the term of office of Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police (DIG) Shambhu Subedi, Ganesh Thadamagar, Kul Bahadur Nembang and Kamal Giri for a year.

He said that he has decided to approve the Minister for Forests and Environment to participate in the program related to climate change to be held in Rome, Italy from 24 to 27 February.

Minister Gurung said that the government has decided to appoint Joint Secretary Bishnu Prasad Sharma as the Executive Director of the Special Structure Operation and Management Development Committee.
