Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party should unanimously select a candidate for the local elections.

Speaking at a program organized here today to congratulate and honour the newly-elected office-bearers of the Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs of Nepal, he said that a better person should be nominated as their candidate in the local level election. "In the past, when the party leadership fielded its own candidate rather than the best, the party was affected in the local elections," he said.

Former General Secretary of the party Singh said that the party should abide by the party's constitution and rules while selecting candidates in the local elections. "Congress has launched a nationwide campaign to win the local elections by going door to door. The party should give tickets to the local level elections by looking at the deserving people," he said. He said that the election could be easily won by giving tickets to a person who is wet with the locals. FNCCI's newly elected president Ravi Singh said that he would work for the rights and interests of construction businessmen and put an end to distortions and anomalies in the construction sector. He said that the construction businessmen were relieved after the formation of the Congress-led government. He said that the construction businessmen would work in the coming days to bring the construction sector of the country, which was disrupted due to Corona, on the right track.
