Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ramchandra Poudel has said the Supreme Court saved the country from crisis by scrapping the government's decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.
During his meeting with party's leaders and cadres in Siraha on Wednesday, senior leader Poudel said the SC verdict to repeal the dissolution of the House of Representatives saved the country from political instability. "Democracy was in a grave threat with the dissolution of the parliament by the President on the recommendation of the government.' But the SC constitutional bench has rescued the country from such threat and this has protected constitutionalism. Judiciary decided in favour of people, constitution and a rule of law,'' he observed.
He claimed that the NC was focused on achieving political stability, safeguarding the accomplishment and the federal democratic republic. Poudel asserted said it was only the NC that could do better for the Madhes.
'' Madhes and the NC have mutual and intimate relations," he said, accusing the Madhes-centric parties of leaving the agenda of Madhesh.
