Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that the election was not for making someone a member of parliament (MP) or minister but for the general public.

At a program organized at Bhadrapur in Jhapa on Saturday, leader Sitaula argued that the election was for the public to elect able and good public servants and for their rights. According to him, the election was an opportunity to make the public further stronger. Situla, who is contesting from constituency no 3 of Jhapa district for the upcoming election of the House of Representatives to be held on November 20 this year, viewed that the public should exercise their franchise and elect candidates that are service-oriented and pro-public. Stating that the struggle for democracy was still on and he was working towards further strengthening federal democracy.

The former minister reiterated, "I am running a campaign to elevate the livelihood of people. My role would be based on the need at local and central levels." The leader emphasized ensuring real happiness and prosperity to the public and the current coalition was not only for the upcoming elections but was for the national need and nation-building.

He was confident that the incumbent government would successfully hold the upcoming election of the House of Representatives and Province Assembly in a free, fair, and peaceful atmosphere as done in the last local-level election.
