CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal has said an electoral alliance among the democratic forces could take place in the upcoming elections to safeguard the constitution, and democratic norms and values.

At a programme organised in the party central office to welcome newcomers in the CPN (Unified Socialist) on Sunday, Chairperson Nepal stated that the agents of progressive changes should be made winners by defeating the regressive forces in the elections. He also said his party was advancing the political journey by keeping the country and people at the centre.

“Due to dissolution of the House of Representatives by the UML leadership in the past, they are not agents of change. Rather, they are the examples of regressive character,” he reminded while adding that the UML’s leaders were going downwards because of their failure to accept the flaws.

The former Prime Minister also appealed to his leaders and cadres to carry on their politics with the aspirations of honesty, integrity and dedication.

During the event, more than 60 youths of CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) from Bigu Rural Municipality of Dolakha district defected to the CPN (Unified Socialist).
