The first extended meeting of the Socialist Press Organization of Nepal, an organization of progressive working journalists, has started in the capital from today. The two-day meeting was inaugurated by CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhala Nath Khanal.

The meeting has been attended by more than 300 members including central office bearers, members, state in-charge, district chairperson, vice-chairperson and former chairperson. The organizational report of the chairperson and secretary-general will be presented in the meeting. After the inaugural session, the closed session is now underway.

Chairman of the organization, Shambhu Shrestha, said that a socialist press organization has been established with the aim of reintegrating into a new stream after a heritage built after decades of hard work was damaged.
