KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stated that former King Gyanendra Shah is not a suitable person to become a constitutional monarch.

Addressing a program organized by the Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Training Department on Sunday, Deuba has suggested that the RPP make former King Gyanendra Shah the party president.

Deuba said, ‘there is no possibility of the monarchy returning to Nepal and that Gyanendra is not suited to be a constitutional monarch’

“If the former king wanted to engage in politics, he could have founded his own party. However, those who join that party face many challenges, and the RPP itself also suffers as a result.” Deuba stated.
