In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, discussions are going on regarding the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the Fiscal Year 2022/23 AD (excluding the tax proposal).
In the meeting, CPN (UML) MP Bhim Bahadur Rawal objected that there has been no initiative to improve the economy. Stating that no attention has been paid to agricultural production and agricultural productivity, he demanded to make arrangements to increase employment within the country and not to bring in foreign workers. He suggested in order to build big projects like Upper Karnali and West Seti, domestic human resource should be mobilized. He said, "Special attention should be paid by the government to maintain good governance."
Vishal Bhattarai, an MP from the same party, objected to the absence of Finance Minister Janardan Sharma while discussing the priorities and principles of the Appropriation Bill. After his objection, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota said that he had drawn his attention to the matter and ruled for the presence of the concerned Minister. He instructed the other ministers present in the House to take notes until the Finance Minister arrives.
