Lawmakers to get regular salary including for two-month dissolution

With the order issued by the Supreme Court to reinstate the House of Representatives, the lawmakers are set to receive their salaries including for the two months that the House was dissolved.

According to spokesperson at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Rojnath Pandey, from now on, the HoR members will regularly receive their salaries including for the two months that the Lower House was dissolved. 

Each of the lawmakers receives a salary of Rs 64,000 per month, Pandey informed.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on December 20, had approved the dissolution of the Federal Parliament.

The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, overturned the government’s decision to dissolve the HoR and delivered a verdict in favour of the reinstatement of the HoR.
