Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale informed that it has been decided to move ahead in the upcoming local elections by reaching a consensus among the ruling parties.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, he said that the decision would be taken by mutual consent of the chief, deputy chief, ward chairman, and members by forming a district task force at the district level.
He informed that Rs. 16 billion has been allocated for land encroachment to make Biratnagar Airport regional international.
Replying to a question, Minister Ale said that budget has been allocated for passenger toilets, terminal building, and luggage belts at the airport which has 22 daily flights. He informed that he has been instructed to operate daily flights from Biratnagar to Lukla as soon as possible.
