KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Nagarik Unmukti Party is scheduled to begin today.

This marks the first such meeting since the party’s inaugural general convention. The meeting is set to take place today and tomorrow in Mid-Baneshwor, starting at 11:00 am.

Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha has called the emergency meeting to address several important issues, including ongoing political developments and potential unification with other parties and alliances.

The meeting will include central members appointed during the period when party leader Resham Chaudhary was in jail, those elected during the first general convention, and the founding central members.

Mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, who were elected by the party at the federation and provincial levels and later made central committee members, will also be in attendance.
