The district working committees' election under the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress of the 16 districts has been postponed due to COVID risk.
The Central Election Committee (CEC) said in a statement that the district conventions in Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Nawalpur, Banke, Kailali, and Achham have been postponed.
Committee Secretary Keshav Rijal informed that the district convention which is scheduled to be held on January 29, has been postponed due to the risk of COVID. He informed that the election of the district working committee will be held immediately when things settle down.
