LUMBINI: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the government brought ordinances to make national economy dynamic, maintain good governance and provide relief to the people.
During a press meet organized by the Press Chautari Nepal Rupandehi chapter here Thursday, Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said ordinances would be helpful to clear challenges before the national economy. “Constitution itself has the provisions of ordinance, and it is brought based on need,” he argued.
No ministry can hold a file more than a week now, he said, adding that delayed processing of file was obstructing public service delivery. The ordinance had also addressed it.
“The ruling parties NC and UML have good understanding, so there is no point in making baseless rumour,” the Minister said ruling out the possibility of any strain in coalition. The government was formed for stability, he informed.
Construction of the Butwal-Narayangadh road section was intensified after the formation of present government, according to Minister, who also asserted that development works were forwarded by it.
The Minister further informed that government was setting up a cooperative fund to return the money deposited by the commoners in cooperatives that faced troubles
Moreover, the Minister said the constitution would be amended based on national consensus.
He said it while inaugurating the 9th national Devdaha industrial trade fair at Devdaha on Thursday itself.
Minister Gurung argued the opposition parties were spreading negative message on issues of constitution amendment. The national charter could be amended for political stability and it would not change the provision on federalism, secularism, inclusion and proportional scheme.
The ordinances had aimed at amending various 13 old laws for ensuring good governance, according to him.
