Chairman of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal Kamal Thapa has said that the party has abandoned the idea of monarchy as per the sentiments and desires of the people. Speaking at a program organized today, Chairman Thapa said that the political parties would change their philosophy, beliefs, and ideas as well as their plans with the passage of time.
Stating that they have organized for the purpose of building alternative ideas and parties in nation-building, he said, "Different ideas are not against anyone, the characteristic and beauty of democracy is ideological diversity." Arguing that the current electoral system is expensive in the country, there are many distortions in the political arena.
Stating that political stability is necessary for the development of the country, he clarified that a liberal economy including an open market and promotions is an important ideological basis of RPP-Nepal. Presenting a working paper on 'Current Challenges and Alternatives', Chairman Thapa highlighted the importance of governance with transparency and good governance. During the program, suggestions were collected from the representatives of various sectors about the economic crisis in the country as well as political stability.
