Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is paying a courtesy call on senior leader of CPN UML Madhav Kumar Nepal at his residence in Koteshwor.
PM Deuba, who is also the president of Nepali Congress, has become the executive head of the country due to the support extended by Nepal. Deuba had made a claim to be appointed the prime minister of the country as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution after he received the support of 26 lawmakers from Nepal-led faction of CPN UML.
Later, on Monday, the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court that was hearing the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari issued a verdict reinstating the House and also directed that Deuba be made the prime minister by 5 pm on Tuesday.
