Positive steps of political parties: NBA

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for an investigation to be conducted against former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha who has been accused of helping in the release of a landlord who had been accused of racial discrimination.

The Nepal Bar Association has said that filing an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra is a positive step. In a press release issued today, Bar General Secretary Lilamani Poudel said that all the political parties in the House of Representatives and the parliamentarians need to take more positive initiatives to reach a conclusion as per the constitution.

"We heartily urge all political parties and honorable members of parliament to take positive steps to pass the impeachment motion," Bar said in a statement. Barr had been protesting for 107 days, demanding that the court be cleansed. A motion of impeachment against Chief Justice Rana was filed in Parliament today.
