BHOJPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said there was no need for the country to revisit the previous system.

Addressing the second district convention of Bhojpur district committee of the party on Friday, he argued that attempt to revisit monarchical system was impossible. He, however, said it is time to move ahead by correcting the weaknesses in the present system.

There is a need for a powerful commission to investigate the properties of beneficiaries since 2046 BS, General Secretary Thapa made it clear that the NC would not favour the NC leader or whoever involved in the wrongdoing.

He further opined that the general convention of the NC should be held within the stipulated time. Necessary preparations were underway for the same.
