KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case, is scheduled to appear before the Rupandehi District Court today (Monday).
Lamichhane was transferred to Rupandehi on Saturday morning after the High Court ordered his detention at the Tulsipur detention center. However, due to the public holidays on Saturday and Sunday, he has been held at the District Police Office in Rupandehi.
Police will now present him in court to proceed with the legal process before he is sent to detention.
Lamichhane had previously been granted bail of Rs 10 million by the District Court on January 26.
He later filed a petition at the High Court to cancel the bail and seek a regular release date. The High Court, however, reversed the earlier decision, leading to his re-arrest.
