Dalit community has won the post of deputy chief of Shuklagandaki and Bhanu municipalities in the local level election held on May 13.
Khum Bahadur BK in Shuklagandaki and Uma Gotame in Bhanu have been elected to the post out of 10 municipalities of the district. BK was elected from the CPN (Maoist Center) and Gotame from the Nepali Congress.
Meanwhile, even though the counting of votes has been completed in the district, four municipalities have not yet submitted their ballot papers to the concerned bodies. According to the District Election Office, ballot papers of Devghat, Ghiring, Shuklagandaki and Beas municipalities have not been submitted.
District Election Officer Hari Prasad Dhakal informed that ballot papers have already been submitted by Rishing, Aanbukhaireni, Bhanu, Bhimad, Bandipur and Myagde villages. Ballot papers have to be kept safe for six months after counting. He said, "If there is no issue within that period, it will be settled."
