A group of leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal assembled at the Election Commission for fulfilling the process of registering a new political party — CPN (Unified Socialist) — today.
They arrived at the Election Commission (EC) along with the required documents for verification purposes. Earlier, the leaders including Nepal had applied to the EC for party registration.
The EC had asked all the leaders who had signed on the application for party registration to visit its secretariat for verification today.
Jagannath Khatiwada, one of the leaders of the proposed party, said that the required number of the signatories fulfilling the quorum for registering a new party was physically present at the EC. Pradip Kumar Nepal is also among the leaders present for this purpose.
Similarly, the group led by Mahantha Thakur also reached the EC for the verification process. The leaders who had put their signatures on the application for registration of the new party — Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
Rajendra Mahato, one of the leaders of the proposed Lokatantrik Samajbadi Party, said their party has proposed a 30-member working committee.
