The central committee meeting of the CPN UML has proposed a reshuffle of the existing number of office-bearers in the party.
The meeting continued for three days in the federal capital has proposed seven chairpersons in the party while keeping intact the existing number of general secretary, deputy general secretary, and secretary. The group discussions made such a proposal, according to publicity department chief Yogesh Bhattarai.
Chairman Oli however responded how such provision could impact the committee. However, a concrete decision to this end could be made after further discussion, Bhattarai added.
The meeting held as part of the preparation of the statute national convention passed three reports to be presented in the convention. The political proposal presented by Chairperson Oli has been passed. The organisational report presented by General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel was also reviewed by the meeting.
The statute convention will be held in Godawari on October 1. It would last for three days and secure the participation of some 5,000 representatives from across the country.
However, the total number of representatives is yet to be ascertained.
The reports presented by Chairperson Oli, General Secretary Pokhrel, and leader Bishnu Poudel have well reflected present society, said publicity department chief Bhattarai.
The meeting stressed the need to strengthen the party from ideological, political, and organisational viewpoints. Unity in these fronts makes the party united, according to him. It has been announced that the party would be made victorious in the coming elections to the federal, provincial, and local levels.
The political report has vowed to embrace socialism setting its economic, cultural, and social bases.
The general convention will have the participation of all party office bearers, members, all office bearers of central bodies, and members. Similarly, 10 among senior members and office bearers of each sister organisation of the party would attend the convention.
