KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN (UML) has announced nationwide awakening campaign in defense of democratic republic system.
UML’s publicity department chief Rajendra Gautam said the campaign would be conducted to aware the people against the undemocratic activities taking place in the recent days.
He stated that the public awakening programme would be announced at a same time across the country on March 24. The party would conduct such events for three weeks across the nation including people’s mobilization, rallies in Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj and Damak.
Likewise, the district-level assemblies would be held in all districts on March 31.
According to Gautam, demonstrations and mass meetings would be held in Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj and Damak.
Likewise, UML general secretary Shankar Pokhrel has directed the party committees to effectively run the campaigns.
At a virtual meeting today, General Secretary Pokhrel said that the party cadres and leaders should inform the general public about the socio-economic development and other achievements made in the democratic period and the changes in people’s livelihood in contrast to the Panchayat era.
