Senior leader of CPN UML, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has stated the recent political developments had given rise to various anomalies in the parliamentary politics system of the country

Senior leader of the main opposition party, CPN UML, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has stated the recent political developments had given rise to various anomalies in the parliamentary politics system of the country.

He said so while putting forth his views on behalf of the CPN UML regarding the proposal tabled by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for the vote of confidence in the second meeting of today’s session of the House of Representatives (HoR).

During his address to the House, Gyawali also spoke about previous incidents when governments had been toppled in Nepal because lawmakers had not voted in favour of their respective parties which had given rise to irregularities in the political sphere of Nepal.

He added that it did not matter who was leading the country at the moment but what mattered was whether the parliamentary system had been strengthened or not in the country.

Gyawali further added that though the CPN UML was not pleased with the Supreme Court’s recent verdict to reinstate the House and appoint Deuba as the prime minister, the party will follow the decision made by the apex court.

He also said the CPN UML will not vote in favour of PM Deuba during the vote of confidence.
